Anyone can take part, whether you have two left hands or are a handyman.

We usually travel to Eastern Europe for a week to help people there in a very practical way by renovating or building homes.

The teams change, but anyone who has been involved once wants to be involved again.

Dominik, the head of HANDSteam construction operations. Sympathetic. Carpenter.

We are currently expanding the children’s home in Ukraine. After the renovation, two families will move into this house, a former boarding house in shell form, each of which will take in and raise eight to ten orphans.

The house is in the far west of Ukraine, far away from war and missiles. We have decided to complete the house this year if possible, even though the situation in Ukraine is uncertain. But unfortunately there are so many orphans that we have to do something!

As the war in Ukraine means that we can hardly get any craftsmen, we have to build a lot of things there with volunteers from Germany.

The house is supported by our friendly association Waisen-und Jugendhilfe Ukraine e.V.

The planned dates for the next Hands-team construction projects in Ukraine.

The dates are not static, but flexible, depending on how much time the helpers have.

  • January 2025: Two weeks of construction work at Kinderhaus Ukraine
  • February 2025: One week of construction work at the Children’s House Ukraine

We are looking for helpers for the construction work, whether amateur or professional, everyone is welcome! However, as long as the war is still raging, we only accept adults.

The missions cost nothing for the participants apart from meals.

The small print:

Unfortunately, due to the war, there is currently no insurance that applies in Ukraine. Neither for vehicles, nor accident insurance for people.

Participation in the construction work is therefore at your own risk. Neither the DHHN nor the orphan and youth welfare organization will be liable for any damages.

Before every deployment, we check the current security situation with our project manager, who lives on site. Since the beginning of the war, only one rocket has hit within a distance of 100 km. Due to the close proximity of the children’s home and youth center to Slovakia and Hungary, we consider the risk of a missile attack there to be very low.

For minor injuries, treatment in Ukraine is not a problem.
